That's true, Ashanti's short position doesn't go away nor is it reduced any by an extension of the margin forebearance. The monster is still lurking out there. But by buying time, and more time, and more time, an opportunity may present itself to unravel the position less expensively at a lower POG. That seems to be the gambit now for Ashanti and its creditors. This means of course that Ashanti and its creditors would be EXTREMELY happy if the POG headed down, down. John
