Pierre Lortie to President and COO of Bombardier Capital
FEBRUARY 16, 2000
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--Mr. Yvan Allaire, Chairman of the Board of
Bombardier Capital and Executive Vice President, Bombardier Inc.,
today announced the appointment of Mr. Pierre Lortie as President
and Chief Operating Officer of Bombardier Capital. His
appointment is effective April 1, 2000.

Mr. Lortie had been President of Bombardier Capital from 1990 to
1993 when he became President, Bombardier Aerospace, Regional
Aircraft. In April 1998, he was named President and Chief
Operating Officer, Bombardier International.

Mr. Pierre-Andre Roy who was President of Bombardier Capital since
1993 had recently expressed his intention to retire. Under his
leadership, Bombardier Capital has expanded into new areas and
grown its revenues at a high rate. Since he joined Bombardier in
1980, Mr. Roy held a number of management positions at Bombardier
Transportation and Bombardier Aerospace as well as at the
Corporate Office of Bombardier.

On behalf of the management of the Corporation, Mr. Allaire
expressed his gratitude to Mr. Roy for his contribution to the
development of Bombardier over the last 20 years and wished him a
happy retirement.

A decision will be announced in the future as to the replacement
of Mr. Lortie as President of Bombardier International.

Bombardier Inc. is a Canadian corporation active in the fields of
aerospace, rail transportation equipment, recreational products
and financial services. It operates plants in 12 countries in
North America, Europe and Asia, and more than 90 % of its revenues
are generated outside Canada. Bombardier's revenues for its
fiscal year ended January 31, 1999 totalled $11.5 billion.
