I am yanking Freddy and Nihil's chain, but I don't really think that cheating at cards is funny, no. I would have more respect for someone who cheated on a test than someone who cheated at cards. Not sure why, but I think it's because I assume that people who cheat on tests do it by secreting notes on their persons, and I consider that a failure of memory more than character. I can't imagine looking at someone else's paper for an answer, that's just stupid, because if you don't know it, what makes you think the other guy knows it? I don't condone it, but I think it's forgivable.

Cheating at cards, however, requires incomprehensible malice and treachery, if one is playing for money. It's theft, from one's intimates, which is beyond the pale. If one of my friends stole money from me, I'd never forgive him.
