That's the down side of metals. They weigh a lot, and they take up a lot of space, and you're vulnerable to thieves if you have physical possession.

When my grandmother got sick, during the height of the silver craze, she wanted me to store her coin collection for her so none of the inlaws would steal it. I wanted to store it in a vault, but it was so bulky that it was too dang expensive, it was $30 a month, over 20 years ago, so I wound up storing it in brown paper grocery bags in the back of my closet and putting bags of clothes on top of it. When she died, I gave it to the executrix, good riddance!
