"Anyone know why it was strong today, in a really shi!@# day for the market ?"

Jean, the way relatively heavily shorted stocks seem to perform on relatively lousy days in the market, seems to be up: shorts are basically trying to buy back their positions. I think shorts on BRCM know they are in trouble and are looking to cut their losses - hence, the nice move today - also, perhaps some sympathy with AMAT's stellar performance.

Who knows for sure, but being long BRCM is the only way to be!

Cheers, Keith

I can't give you a specific reason for it's performance today but it seems to me that there is rotation of money from "old tech"(msft, intc etc.) to "new tech"(brcm, pmcs, ntap, jdsu, etc.)and price appreciation then becomes a self fulfilling prophecy. Don't know if I'm right, don't know if it's a good thing if I am, just my opinion.
