hi laura,

i hope that by the time you get this reply you have rebooted your puter and whatever was causing your desktop shortcuts to misbehave has gone away. sometimes that's the best advice... try rebooting. i'm at a loss, otherwise, right off the top, as to what may be causing trouble.
