People pay rent and mortgages, fill up their petrol tanks, pay for medical insurance and prescriptions, buy food, pay utilities, and do other things BEFORE they can surf the web if they have any time left. And commissions are not an important factor because people used to buy or sell once in a blue moon, not every five minutes like now, and only a minority trade anyway.
