Ten,

Thanks for that clarification.

I'm currently listening to the live Marc Edelstone interview on Rambus.

radiowallstreet.com

Bottom line is that Edelstone thinks that the picture isn't going to be totally clear for 6 more months. He sticks to the belief that the pc memory biz could go to either DDR or to RDRAM. He calls Rambus "an all or nothing situation." And why does he still think that DDR has an equal chance to succeed against RDRAM? He says that when you ask Intel the right question, that they will always say that the question of which memory will be the chosen one, will be answered by the market and that they will give the market what it wants (unsaid - even if it isn't Rambus.) I didn't hear anything about the fact that the Rambus solution might be so compelling that the market will choose it. He makes it seem as if it's an economic benefit choice that will determine the winning technology. Personally, I believe that Willamette/Rambus pc's on the desktop will be what most everybody will want next year - because of what you will be able to do with these machines. Better live video, audio, voice-enabled pc's.

He calls himself an analyst but NOWHERE in the Rambus interview did I hear any reference whatsoever to any royalty projections other than afforded by pc's - an as we all know from hearing Uncle West say it over and over - Rambus has said that the pc market is only 35% of the story. And what ABOUT SONY? Nada.
