Scumbria - <The ALU is a very small chunk of any "core." >

We got it already.

Thread, when Scumbria made the statements about .18 transistors not being able to run at room temp., he hadn't bothered to even read a technical article on the subject yet, even though Anand and JC's had one posted, instead deciding to go with The Register and bulletin board interpretations. So he wouldn't have known about it being the ALU, because he didn't even bother to check it out.

I knew it was the ALU only, but I didn't know I had to spell it out to a CPU designer; I figured he would check out the reports from credible sources ,and would know what he was talking about. And to be fair, I had a hard time with it also.

I totally trust he is now onboard with the ALU running, xtors and all, at 2X clock speed.
