DRAM Chip Prices Fall to US$5 Range

"February 18, 2000 (SEOUL) -- Prices for the benchmark 64Mb DRAMs have fallen to the
US$5 per chip range.

Industry watchers said that the benchmark 8M x 8, PC-100 chip was being traded at
around US$5.80-6.15 per unit, and added that semiconductor prices will continue to fall
during the first half of this year.

As a result, chip makers will likely be forced to cut production, they added.

"Demand for chips are falling rapidly,"
stated an industry watcher. "However, it has not
yet come to the point where companies will have to resort to cutting production."
