On the other hand Carolyn

Some of us have never been in the black here yet, and it is a little disconcerting for myself, since having purchased in December, the nasdaq went up another 15% or whatever, while GNET tanked 30% twice, and is yet to recover!

I have noticed absent from discussion, is how folks think this would hold up in the face of a 30% or so nasdaq correction a la Summer 1996 or 1998.

I think the news that will come out around the time of the annual meeting is critical. There just seems to be a general state of indifference towards GNET by Wall St., not what I like to see after a debacle last year of getting mired down in a new home building stock with p/es of 4, 20 years straight of sharply growing profits and it doesnt even matter as they are down 30% and still languishing since 1998. (Why oh why did I sell 5,000 AMAT at $34, and then buy oil services right before they tanked as well... ouch) In my opinion there really needs to be some special "oomph" to stand out amongst the crowd.

When I heard about the number of SI posts are down by half, I wondered what is being done to promote it. For instance, why not place a 1/2 or full page ad in the WSJ or IBD saying something like "Intelligent Chat", saying that SI is a division of Go2Net with the others listed, showing a little picture of the new office building. That sort of thing. Getting the message out there (and more than once) that will stick in large and small investors minds is of incalculable value. Same with financial magazines.

As well, how about actually paying E Trade, Schwab, and Ameritrade to place banners on their sites. Maybe even free SI memberships for their clients. I could be all wrong, but I think it would be well worth the investment.

A small item also, I wish Fleckenstein wasnt displayed so prominently on the SI front page, speaking for myself, maybe for other newcomers to SI, seeing Mr. Wrong Way Negativity in print or otherwise in a prominent space is a turn off. Why not have Joe Battaglia of Gruntal, who has been right for years, right there with him in rebuttal!

Anyways have a good weekend!
