Dear RudeDog: Alright, I'm tellen, whats the name of your wife!! (gg)
On the serious side, yes I too wondered why Gates was sucking up to
Dell at the expense IMHO of CPQ. If he really wanted to take on SUNW seems to me his first suck up would be CPQ they appear to be the only ones who could even give him a shot at it. You think Gates is Loosing it!! I watched the Bloomberg and CNBC interview replay and he sure looked like a deer in the headlights. JDN

Rudedog,

I'm afraid the tabloid rumors are going to get even bigger:
Your statement about CPQ is well-taken and right on the money.
Perhaps with CPQ's new management team, they are pursuing a
slightly different hardware & O/S strategy: one that doesn't
emphasize NT as much as M$FT would prefer. I think M$FT was
really counting on the NT/Alpha push. I agree that CPQ is
just realizing how difficult and expensive enterprise support
really is. Maybe they don't want the responsibility of supporting
NT at that level of commitment. I wouldn't blame them.
