Nihil, what I have heard is that Gore was in VietNam. However, his father pulled strings so Gore always had protectors there to keep him safe. I don't think he was involved in combat in any way but was shielded from it. Frank

nihil, when I said he wasn't a soldier, it was meant as not a combat soldier. Any dufus can enlist and be given a uniform. Unfortunately the "usual" army qualifications are not like the marine corps, or rangers, or green berets. If you think, for one minute, the COs, of any army unit he was attached to, were going to let a senator's, or former senator's, son be anywhere near a danger zone, then you don't know the VIP manual of the army. It is not important either way because, it doesn't matter what anyone says to you ,you are going to try to make an issue of it. As I said before, you enter these threads to goad people into arguments instead of discussions. Your history of this is quite evident on any thread you have visited, so your credibility is suspect. ~H~
