Radiowallstreet.com has a good 10 minutes of talk about Borland/Corel. Some very positive comments regarding Corel and Inprise. The Corel/Inprise talk starts at about 43 minutes. The guy who sent the e-mail to the show (which sparked this conversation) must be some sort of genius (TIC).

As Microsoft run into serious trouble with the DOJ, the way to make money seemed to either, directly, sell short MSFT or indirectly, buy CORL and/or INPR. That was IMHO the reason (not just Linux, not even mainly that) which took out the shares of INPR and CORL from their respective holes.

Any more trouble Microsoft encounters with their image as a "monopoly" and with the DOJ will benefit CORL/INPR (I used to love the name Borland, why did they ever gave that up?) The converse of the above is also true, however. All IMO, of course.

Good luck to the longs ...
