Good Morning Bosco, Jack & Telecomguy. I got back from San Diego last night. I must say I missed SI while I was away. What do you make of the rumors about a merger between Juniper and Ciena? I think it could happen. In my opinion, it will become increasingly difficult for a company to compete as a pure router/switching company or pure optics company because the technology will move towards tighter integration of the transport layer and the switching layer. Companies like Nortel which market both routers and switches as well as optical gear will have an advantage as they develop network management products which push the integration of the two layers. Just my opinion. What do you think?
