Putnum Funds to buy more than 7 million shares of ETEK, filed on 2/17/00

Cyrus, Thanks for the link. It appears that this should cancel out the Furukawa sales --more or less. Does anyone know the method in which these shares would be purchased.

Does anyone know of the rules relating to selling or buying large number of shares. Do they have to be disclosed prior to the actual transaction?

I continue to believe that funds will continue to flow into tech stocks and that large well established names and upstarts like JDSU will get a money coming in. My feeling is that optical or telecom equipment (and biotech) stocks will get a larger allocation (compared to an index fund--ex. Nasdaq100). Considering these companies are smaller, their stock prices will run up considerably more.

I doubt the internet stocks will come back soon---wait for late summer.

The best place to be is still the companies that have something to do with the internet infrastructure or biotech.
