All, Just a conveyance of the inventory terms that I have with Ingram.
All products have a 30 day DOA policy, can be returned if defective within 30 days.
Most products have a stock balancing provision. If within 45 days of purchase I may return product that I wish, providing that it be in resalable condition. This provision also acts as price protection in that if there was a substantial price increase I could return under a stock balance and receive credit at the price that was paid. The shipping charges are not covered and have to be factored into the decision to return.
Some products are nonreturnable, these are very few and once bought you will never return.
In one case they sent me a nonreturnable product by mistake and it took a tremendous effort to have them accept the product back even though it was their fault.

The idea of Ingram eating returns without manufacture involvement is frankly unbelievable.
I don't believe it for a second, IMO they don't eat anything. These guys are tough shrewd inventory operators, been dealing with these guys before they merged with Micro D forming Ingram Micro D and now Ingram Micro or about 15 years. The only way I could see them getting stuck would be if a large manufacturer went out of business leaving Ingram holding the bag or a large retailer such as CompUSA comes on line and as part of the deal liability for excess and outdated inventory is assumed. In any case there's seems to be a lot of money floating around paying for a lot of unusual one time charges that no one quite understands.

Dare I say, could it be that these charges are designed to
protect their Softbank gains and are really non issues?
