I know the assertion that Jesus may have been homo- or bisexual annoys many ignorant Christians, but I can't submit to that. They are just as annoyed at the idea that Jesus was a heterosexual. Most of them are disgusted by the idea that Jesus had sex with Mary Magdalene. Yet most of them again will fight for the principle that God is male. Now Jesus was either exclusive man (as I believe), exclusive God (as many heretics e.g. Docetists and Gnostics) believe, or some kind of combination including both divine and merely human substance as the orthodox (claim) or some kind of merged substance (As the Monophysites believe to this day). A male human being, it seems to me, must in orientation be homosexual, bisexual, heterosexual or an emotional eunuch of some sort and I think which depends on the ratios of androgens to estrogen and their levels in his blood, and I am only discussing the human Jesus (whether or not he was also a God -- I reject Docetism out of hand as the utter contradiction of my belief in Jesus the Man). I do not accuse god of being homosexual, it is wholly irrelevant to my hypothesis (but would be fun), which I sure I have an absolute and unquestioned right to examine.
As you probably know, I think Jesus the Man was mentally disturbed, may well have believed that he was god, very probably believed that he was t Mesach. I believe, for the moment, that John the Evangelist had been young John the disciple. I know of no evidence to suggest the statement "the disciple that Jesus loved" is an interpolation. I have a strong textually based belief in the John's description of the crucifixion, the trials, and the events to which he testified. I certainly cannot prove them. His failure to mention his presence at the Transfiguration (which the other evangelists mention John attended) seems to be a fiction told by Peter, who I believe prevaricated. Peter was in many ways an extraordinarily vicious man. (I have never forgiven his complicity in God's murder of Ananias and Sapphira). Imagine being there and seeing Jesus glorified and not mentioning in any of your books or epistles? Absurd.
I believe that Jesus the Man grew to love and wanted to save all mankind who believed in him or his message, Jew and Gentile, Man and Woman, Queer and Straight, lame and sound. I can't imagine that a man who saved a woman taken in adultery, from being stoned would ever want to injure or damn or stone even a homosexual sodomite. But I see nowhere in the new testament the parable of the "Greek pederast taken in sodomy." I do see the young (often painted as blond and "good looking") John whom Jesus was said to love in a way he did not love his other disciples. John who reclined on Jesus's breast at the last supper in the place of honor.
I think if Jesus was bisexual, had children (as the story goes) escaped to South France) with Mary Magdalene (leaving John to take care of Mary the Mother as he states) he would be a much better model for this world than the Christ depicted in New Testament and by those who thought him a bigot.
I admire Jesus as a hero snd inventor of universsal love but do not worship him as a god. I don't want Christians to spit on and revile this man as high priests, Levites (and the Temple gang) and Romans did as he labored up Calvary with his cross upon his back to his ultimate disillusionment and death. I want him to be remembered as a young man of 33 or so, humorous, intelligent, clever with words, pious toward an unknown god, revolutionary, rejecting, overthrowing, revising and humanizing hide-bound Judaism, loving children, publicans, whores, queers, despised and rejected of men, teaching everyone to love their neighbors as themselves.
