Wayne, The exacta came in perfectly at the Fountain of Kiddies, so it didn't pay much. I had High Yield (even though I hate junk bonds <g>) and the German car over Hal and the same two. I thought Hal was going to do it for awhile, but Day had more horse left than I suspected.

The announcers seemed to love Greenwood Lake, but I was underwhelmed. In a 14 horse field, he doesn't need luck. He needs a miracle.

I still haven't seen a Derby winner, IMHO. Chilukki looks great, but you know the Kentucky Mafia will rig a lousy post position for Baffert. Again.

Wayne - I didn't go nor see the race but did look over the charts for the Fountain. Earlier in the morn the horsie talk show out of LA had one of the Form guys on, Mike Watchmaker, I think. He talked about the chances of lotsa candidates for this race and the Derby, but failed to mention Hal's Hope who went off as the seventh choice but still only 10-1. I'm no longer surprised at folks dismissing a horse who has just turned in a good last race. Shades of Charismatic and numerous others. It's still early in the game, as you know, and like yourself I'm looking forward to see the Derby play unfold. R
