No, Ford would have continued to be the moderate failure he had been, electing a Dem in 1980. Reagan needed the failure of Carter (as FDR needed the failure of Hoover) to set the stage for a dramatic new beginning.

You seem very frustrated, unable to lie or stupid your way out of your hole. That's obviously not for lack of trying or experience.
