nihil, making men perform through fear of their own superior makes for inadequate performance. I have seen a lot more of the real world than you may think, and have not cloistered myself behind the ivied walls of some college. "Do you want to live forever" sounds like a movie script, and has nothing to do with threats of harm from an individual soldier's combat leader. If you think the army is so sweet, read up on D-Day, Battle of the Bulge, Bastogne, North Africa, Angio, Salerno, the casino, and on and on and on and on and on and on. It's true that the Marines are a crazy bunch, and I respect most of them, and the reckless daring required, was why they recruited mainly 18 year olds. Maybe that reckless abandon is why they are called "jar heads". Another indication of your inferiority complex is your unreasonable hatred of officers. Any one with authority over you just irritates the hell out of you, doesn't it. Get a grip! There will always be someone above your station in life, so deal with it! The problem is you can not cope. I don't recall Lincoln every shooting anyone. It was rather difficult to do since he wasn't in the field of battle. How can you explain your denigration of the Army in one paragraph, and then praise Patton,and "All Quiet on the Western Front" (another movie), both concerning the Army, in the second paragraph.
