You are so ignorant that two simple truths appear inconsistent to you. "Patton" was cited to show that he was a brute who thought like me that he had to beat and insult cowards to drive his men to fight. He was correct. "All quiet on the western front" was about the German Army in WWI which anticipated Patton's theory of leadership. You really need an education in war.

Lincoln signed death warrants for hundreds of deserters, cowards, and other "criminals." He was an accessory before the fact (i.e. just as guilty as the hangman) in the murder of these poor, weak, cowardly soldiers. I think it would have been better for everyone if they had been trained adequately before going into battle or washed out under stressful training before they disgraced themselves and their comrades in combat.
