Thanks for the explanation. I checked out their website and looks pretty good.

I currently trade at Dreyfus, Smith-Barney and another firm. Dreyfus has been excellent because of their options quotes and low commissions. I am trying to consolidate my multiple accounts and Interactive Brokers looks like a good site I can work with. Options commissions at Dreyfus are $1.75 per contract, IB is at $1.95 - not much difference there. The idea of electronic confirmations is good. Dreyfus has the same option, I download all my trades directly into Quicken. Fidelity's Spartan program is also excellent and they are offering very low commission rates for active traders - lower than Dreyfus.

Someone mentioned Wall Street Access. My wife uses that firm and the problem I have with them is that options positions do not show up in account balance on line. So
I have no idea of the total account balance when I am looking at it. I like Dreyfus screens.

I will check IB out further.

Thanks again:

One of my friends is familiar with IB. Here is a problem he experienced:

Suppose you are trying to place an options trade order. It shows three prices on three different exchanges, but the best price has only a few contracts open interest. If you place an order for more contracts, the others immediately catch up and your order never gets filled. This happens especially if you are placing a large order - say, 100 contracts.

Have you experienced anything like that in your dealing with IB? I usually trade around 50 contract lots.

Thanks
