Well in your RRSPs it shouldn't matter but outside I think you're allowed to make a certain amount of profit before they start taxing you on it ... I don't know what the exact dollar figure is now.

If you're making a lot of profits from your trading you might want to incorporate a company and do your trading in the corporate account as the tax burden is much lighter on corporations than individuals. I do most of my trading in the corporate and RRSP accounts so I don't worry about it too much.
