Because by his nature, he is an infernal snoop (IMHO)

Bob's washed his hands of this one, though, Christine. From personal observation and experience, getting people suspended on SI has always been a game, and some people are pretty good at it. Having gone from never suspended or warned to death penalty status, within 3 days, without a word of communication from the admins, for things that are now officially listed as 5-10 day suspension items, with the people in communication with Bob on the other side of the game knowing about the death penalty before I did, I find it all darkly humorous. I have a, er, feeling I'd find the private correspondence between Bob and the guys even more humorous, but who knows?

And to repeat, as usual, I got nothing against Bob, people seemed to like Jill better but I never had any contact with her. I imagine you get quite a different view of what's going on when you read mostly complaints. I think Bob's original intervention here was beneficial, but there are certain irresolvable conflicts involved. It's a matter of natural law, I think.

The thing I've been most impressed by in this thread, of the topics that seem to keep coming up, is the relatively fearless discussion of religion. Sheesh, in my experience that's an even touchier subject than politics, but somehow views that seem way out of the mainstream, in terms of allowable popular perception anyway, seem to be discussable without obvious rancor. Good for the feelies, I say.

Cheers, Dan.
