Alan : With all due respect to whoever, Sheller is correct.

While pro-gold investors have, for years, wrongly rationalized and argued in favor of a substantial POG increase, they have not participated in the extraordinary price rises of many of the non-mining stocks. However, instead of recognising their mistake and changing their ways, they have become angry and abusive to the extent of making libelous statements about many personalities and/or financial institutions in order to justify their investment error.

IMO, it is not necessary for investors to be Crusaders. Unfortunately, people interested in gold are immediately drawn into the paranoia of those who regard themselves as the shepherds of the gold flock. Hence, gold investors are made to feel that, by investing in gold/shares for whatever reason, they are participating in a major movement dedicated to stamp out evil from the finances of the world and led by various self-appointed Messiahs.

It is this kind of holier-than-thou crap which has added to the financial demise of so many who have read their rubbish and, worse still, have chosen to believe it.
