nihil,
Yeah, so you say: "My daddy always told me not to get into a pissing contest with a gorilla."

I doubt that he never even new the meaning (in stock terms) of a Gorilla. Did he read the book?

Next week we leave again looking for 'holy sites' so we can chant praises for INTC, MSFT & CSCO and make them go up! Somebody has to do it...humble carl

On AMD lowering Athlon prices in such a "tight" market....nobody wants them at the price they are asking, after all they couldn't sell them all in the demand heavy Xmas Quarter, yet Intel couldn't produce enough to meet the demand. Just thinking out loud and hoping Intel stands pat on the price cut....M

Nihil,

re:"Athlon price cuts"

Well either nobody wants to buy athlon and they are slashing prices.

Or maybe yields are too good and they have excess supply.

If you look at AMD's price cuts they eliminate the 550Mhz speed grade and 600 is now low end.

Just as Intel introduces more Cumines in the 500-600Mhz space.

PS as a far as a pissing contest. AMD has been carefull not to do so - they are moving up the speed scale - in the area where Intel can't ship.

Being more nimble and having 100% capacity running 0.18 micron sure has its advantages.

regards,

kash
