Kash,
A Gateway Athlon 600 system I helped order on 2-16-00 has already shipped. This because I called today to cancel and reorder a 650.
Apparently, Gateway is not waiting on Athlons...

As far a price cuts...they are much better when they follow the addition of new speed grades...and AMD just added the 850.

Kash, <Being more nimble and having 100% capacity running 0.18 micron sure has its advantages.>

I don't think AMD is 100% at 0.18u. I do think all their Athlons are at 0.18u, but they haven't introduced a 0.18u K6-2 yet. And AMD said that they're experiencing higher-than-expected demand in the low-end. Therefore, most of their capacity still seems to be concentrated toward 0.25u K6-2's.

But no matter how you slice and spin it, Intel is still the volume leader.

According to AMD, they are shipping 550 MHz K6-2s built on a 0.25 micron process.
