You're not missing anything. It's the rest of these clowns who are missing a few brain cells, obviously.

That guy and everyone on that show had a big "L" stamped on their forehead. What a horrible way to spontaneously meet someone and fall in love. Agreed on your comments Rande. What a joke. Great day in rat land.

Marry a millionaire...yes, we came across it the other night while flicking around, didn't know anything about it prior to watching...with horror, I might add.

First of all, you would never see this type of thing with the sexes reversed, as in Who wants to marry a MILLIONAIRESS? And not to pick on you in particular Rande, but the fact that you referred to these women as "girls" further demonstrates the mindset that it's okay to parade these women around as if they are pawns. And yes, I know they were not forced into it, which goes to your question of motive....I can only think that after years of mass media brainwashing beginning with fairy tales such as Cinderella and graduating onto magazines like Cosmo, these women must believe in princes who come bearing glass shoes. That some man is going to sweep them off their feet and they will live the rest of their life in a castle. All I can say is to those who have daughters....teach them to believe in themselves...to be strong in their independence and their intelligence, to regard beauty as a facet of truth, a byproduct of an inner honesty and acceptance of they way they are. If she will see herself as beautiful, regardless of the current body shape being propagated by the advertising media, then this inner confidence will radiate outward. There is so much destruction that occurs with the female psyche when it comes to body image, and it's all unnecessary.

The other thing I was thinking as I watched, in between bouts of horror, was that a million bucks isn't all that much these days. They never really said how much the guy was worth, calling him a "multi-millionaire." Well, what are we talking...$2, 3, 15, 50? That's a lot of degregation to go through for a lousy 2 mil...2 mil of which you can only hope that he decides to share with you. What a joke, what a sham.

I could go on and on....but I need to trade.
Julie

Rande... I am very sorry to admit that I know this, but the woman who was chosen received a car and a $35,000 ring for her troubles, as well as a all expenses paid vacation to Vegas the week before.

I honestly think that 99% of the women on that stage were hoping that they weren't going to win (at least, that's what I hope).

Shamed for knowing this,

Murphy
