QCOM's front men

. . . . like SprintPCS, Bell Atlantic, and GTE PrimeCo. are settling in to advance QCOM's patented structures. We live in an incredibly competitive country. Only twice in my memory has inferior technology won out: (1) IBM-based computers beat out the phenomenal Macintosh. (2) VHS beat out technically-superior Beta. I sense this won't happen with CDMA.

Have you ever used a SprintPCS/Qualcomm cell phone? Jesus! What a marvel. Sprint is going to lead the way, baby.

JMHO, John

I like the betamax VHS analogy. The failure of beta was Sony's arrogance and failure to license. SONY wanted to be the only manufacturer. I think QUALCOMM learned from this mistakeand aggresively licensing CDMA to manufacturers.
