Re: "PS: Elmer, Process Boy, Tenchusatsu, no one could accuse you of being biased in favor of AMD. In that light your opinions may be one of the best metrics. Do you think Johan is biased or an AMD cheerleader?"

I think that well meaning people can still make mistakes. I don't know what the facts are and I don't think anyone here does except perhaps Ten. Ten is restricted from commenting on information that has not yet been made public so don't assume his silence on this matter is tacit agreement.

EPI - Re: "Johan is a columnist at www.aceshardware.com, I think he is the webmaster too. "

If that is all he is, I would not believe much of anything he says.

For example, The Microdesign Group (MDR), under Michael Slater, are composed of "supposedly" experts in CPU design - and even THESE GUYS have eternally underestimated the performance of nearly EVERY Intel CPU since 1987 and OVERestimated the performance of CPUs that compete with Intel.

They had the PowerPC, MIPS, and UltraSparcs beating the pants off anything and everything Intel designed.

And some of those MDR guys actually designed a chip or two in their careers.

To rely on a columnist with NO CPU design experience - or architectural experience - is dumber than dumb.

But you can believe whom you want to believe - it's YOUR money.
