LMAO, you think Bush in debate will remind people of Reagan!!!... that is too funny. Bush has the charisma of a paper clip. He looks like a man who loathes his job up there.

Also, mark my words, if Bush gets the nomination, he will get CRUCIFIED on his adamant pro-life position. NO candidate with such a strong outspoken prolife postition will get ever elected in the United States unless something drastic changes in the makeup of our society. I, for one, am thankful for that, religious zealots have no place in our government, imho. If it were to get close, I would think that women and independents would turn out in droves to vote against Bush if just to preserve the integrity Roe V Wade.

It's funny, on certain things, the Republicans want to let the local governements make their own decisions (ie education), but when it comes to the most local government of all, the family, they love to legislate their own morality nation-wide.

Charley,

I cannot of course tell you exactly what ALL the American people want. A number of indications would suggest that character is important in light of 7 years of the slick lizard. Bush is tailoring his message to what he thinks the people want to hear, i.e. "I'm a reformer". This is not going to sell this year. Conviction is going to sell in 2000, and right, wrong, or indifferent, McCain has got a lot of it.

You have not seen me post once that McCain has a superior position on topic x over Bush, or Bush has strength over McCain on this topic x. I don't believe that is what this is about, and I don't think it will determine this race.

Bush might be a reformer, but he should have stated that from the start. I didn't hear it, and only after his recent setback in NH did this phrase become more prevalent.

I have heard Bush speak already, and I was not reminded of RR in anyway. Is he saving this up for Gore?

Death Stars do only get you so far. Agreed.

As for all this talk about Bush and his allegations of drug use, and McCain temper and wife-beating, well like I already said, Jesus ain't running this year. IMO, these don't make a dent in the impression that Clinton has made with the people. They are looking for the anti-Clinton, and McCain is closer to that than Bush. Look at the turnout at the polls, how many young and first time voters. Something is moving them, and it is not some well organized Democrat machine. Sorry, but I just don't buy that.

That McCain is hated by his fellow senators should be his strongest selling point. In the collective mind I think McCain is projecting the possibility of real change, while W is a choice of the machine. People have wanted a real choice for years, and they think McCain is offering it. Are they right? I don't know, but I know that Bush isn't. He says he is, but look at how he is going to get there.

4 year of the wrecking ball might do us some real good. Its worth the risk.

Respectfully

TH

George Bush can not speak, let alone debate without being arrogant and sounding stupid. How could the man sit down with Foreign leaders and explain in english the U.S position on anything, using High Horse on a low road terminalogy????
He makes no sense and neither does his campaign.
JMHO.
