What gets to me is the Republicans want to outlaw abortion AND welfare. They will protect the unborn child until it's born. After it's born, they will let it starve to death, become homeless and deny it healthcare. As soon as it costs them a penny they lose interest in protecting it.

Actually, abortion is homicide regardless. The rape and incest exceptions represent merciful determinations not to prosecute under certain circumstances. In the same way, I would favor treating first trimester abortions less severely than second trimester abortion, and third trimester abortions more severely, in order to reflect the degree of controversy that may surround each phase......

If abortion is murder, and if the death penalty is appropriate punishment for murder, then I think pro-death penalty anti-abortionists should come out and admit that they want to execute all women who have abortions, along with their doctors, nurses, procurers, and supporters. Persons who think that there is any chance that they or their families, might need an abortion, would be suicidal, self-destructive fools to vote for an anti-abortionist candidate. Anyone who thinks a woman owns her body would be a traitor to freedom to vote for an anti-abortionist.
