Well Good Evening Director Smithee...

Although I am very good at causing trouble here at SI, compared to others on this thread, I am what you call "Computer Illiterate"...<ggg>

I'm usually asking the questions here.. But fear not, the more knowledgeable folk will be around directly to answer or find an answer to your compelling inquiry..

I too am sitting in rapt attention wanting to hear the rejoinder..

hi alan,

wow, "I had an unauthorized connection to my system today" are words that no one wants to hear.

i highly recommend downloading and installing blackice defender. costs $40. nothing to configure. and it puts you right into stealth mode.... it's the best software personal firewall available, from all that i've read. i run it and feel good about having it.

networkice.com

in the meantime, just in case... try looking for this file on your hard drive via file manager

WINDLL.DLL

i've read that back orifice leaves this tell-tale file behind as a footprint on all systems it inhabits. just good to periodically check for it.

good luck

:)
