orcl does have exchange with ford as i understand it--been operating for awhile

You make a good point. But the news seems to phrase it in such a manner as to give ORCL the most credit.

However, CMRC is also working with BellSouth, Empresa SA, .. etc, so it's not a "one-trick pony".

And I have to believe that CMRC and GM had some contractual agreement that will ensure they still have a stake. Besides, combining the procurement needs of 3 HUGE automakers should be a win-win for all sides.

Been trying to convince the Mrs. to use her QCOM and YHOO as a source of funds and buy into CMRC for the past two weeks (since it was preparing to spike up from its $157 base). She finally listened to me today and picked some up at $204/share. I think we have legs to make new highs from here and then we can look around and see what we have.
