niceguy <Don't read too much into today's activity...>

I mostly just watch and wonder -- but today seemed a little unexpected without any real news and was then capped by the after-hours volume.

<Glad you got in under $40...>

I didn't really expect to be adding some trading shares at less than $40 but was happy to avail of the opportunity. Felt much better than my "moral support" purchase when AMD fell through 36 after earnings. Portfolio is a little heavy in AMD now.

ps: Any idea where Goutama is? Or if there is interest in another earnings estimate contest? Not that the two are/must be related. I might even be willing to assist in the data gathering/compilation.

SpryGuy - Re: "Don't read too much into today's activity...All kinds of plausible explanations but over the next couple of weeks none will be remembered...No amount of contrived market activity or general market weakness will keep AMD at $40 for very long...It has to break out of the $38 to $45.50 trading range by mid March at the latest according to technical analysis..."

This is your regular pablum post following AMD's disappointing stock performance.

I presume you have it memorized or you just cut and paste on AMD's frequent DOWN DAYs.

Friday was yet another one.

$48.50 seems to be getting further away - NOT CLOSER !
