mact, i am long avnx, quite long for me. i find it very hard to get a handle on the technology. i pretty much understand the claims for the PowerMux, but HOW can they pack in 100's - even thousands - of channels - when the most advanced today is 160 channels, and what is actually shipped (by others, using gratings, which I think avnx does not use) at best is 50 Ghz, which is 60 channels. How is never made clear. Nor has it been publicly demonstrated, as far as i can learn. If it's a patent, why not let us all know? same thing with the PowerShaper, if that's a patent, why not demonstrate it? mact, if you have some data on this I hope you will post it. i am in it, because Simon Cao is famous, but the best of us - even I - can sometimes go haywire. why are you strong on it? I think what andy's worried about is that on March 25, insiders have the right, if I have this correctly, and in what Gilder says is highly unusual, to sell 25% of the stock. I hope you will let me know anything positive you have on avnx. as brian would say, good luck with your (and my) investment. jack

Mact,If you listened to me you would brought APAT at 18 or 28 instead of 60. If you listened to me, you would brought ETEK at 60, JDSU at 50, GLW at 60, SDLI at 60,OCLI at 50,OAK at 40.. You would be very rich now, there would be no need for you risking your hard-earned money to invest on AVNX. To short AVNX, you must long on ETEK. You can not short AVNX without long on ETEK. That is game. If you know how to play option, you might understand what i am talking about. After 30 days, if AVNX and ETEK are still in the same valuation, I definitely will short AVNX and Long on ETEK in the same time. By the way, at least 3 companies are going to announce Interleaver DWDM products. It was said that telelight is going to be brought by Optilink for 50 Millions,because that telelight just developed interleaver DWDM, even better than the one AVNX has. I know at least two other companies have developed interleaver technology, one is in CO and the other one in Silicon Valley. As long as AVNX only has one product-INTERLEAVER DWDM, this stock is not worth that much. By the way, I brought 80K shares of a startup company at 0.38 a share. They also have developed Interleaver DWDM products as good as the one AVNX has.

MACT, I missed so many stocks I recommanded to SI. To refresh your memory.if you listened to me, you would have brought ADCT at 35, brought POCI at 15, brought COHR at 40, brought NEWP at 80,brought ORTL at 90. You would be so rich now. By the way, I made 7 digits last year. My fiberoptics fund got 500%+ gain in the past 6 months. This year I shall do much better,because I invested in startup fiberoptics companies who can do the same thing AVNX is doing. One share of AVNX could buy 1000 shares of the startup. Good deal.
