Now we must compare cars of same price. You cannot compare a 70k beamer to a 35k Caddy.. You must compare the 35k beamer which is a shoebox IMO.

I have a Ford F350 diesel bought new and just about broke in now, pushing four hundred thousand kilometros on the clock and still runs fine, made in Kansas City Missouri, plain jane, no rugs except the scraps i can pull out and shake, Warner T19 four-on-the-floor and Dana rearend [last year for those in Fords, '85] ... a good simple machine that works. That's what i ask of a tool - that it work ... that it do the job reliably and without complicating my life ... like real SI used to do in the Olden Days.
