The current situation is that Adidas and NKE are in talks with TNFI. The problem is that TNFI has over $100 mill in debt. Thus, witout a bail out this company is toast.

Adidas has been unhappy with the way Salomon has performed. NKE lacks a place in the outdoors/hiking sector.

I hear that the bailout with make shareholders happy.

Grant it there is much risk to this play but there is indeed talks going on.
