TNFI, when you say you hear that the deal will please shareholders. . .may I ask where you heard this. Realize this is not the norm. Generally, the assets are sold off to interested parties and the company then files bankruptcy.

Now if market makers are caught holding stock, they will often pass along such rumors in an attempt to artificially inflate the price of the stock, so that others will start buying, believing a resolution has been found. . .then they dump into the buying.

I watched Service Merchandise double in a day, before falling straight to the pennies. Same with Boston Chicken. There may be a play there. . . but I would only play the swing, and set tight stops. . .not trusting enough to hold overnight.

I know nothing about the deal with Nike or Adidas. . .but I do know the way Market Makers work.
