Chris, I am the first to say that out in my little neck of the woods I don't hear a lot, so I am not surprised that I have not heard of "Peniel" . Is there a website for "Peniel" ? thanks dan

Chris, you ae correct in assuming that I meant the denominations I have visited. Of course, I can not comment on something I have not experienced or seen. I have, in my lifetime, attended services in the Methodist, Baptist, Lutheran, Episcopalian, Presbyterian, Catholic, Jewish, and Greek Orthodox churches. I guess that's all but, feel like there were more. I was raised as a Methodist but, by late teenage, felt that something was missing. Very little was said about the teachings of Jesus, and too much about who was going to pay for paving the parking lot. So I went on a quest for a denomination that could teach me about Jesus. All of those I visited left me empty, and without answers. Easter was not a celebration of the resurrection, but a fashion show. Consequently, I left Christianity behind me, and ended up in the darkness, and a period of sin, and excess. At a critical point, Jesus saved my life, and my future. Since that time I have spent my religious time in getting to understand the Bible, and attending a number of non-denominational gatherings, where only what is said in the Bible is spoken about, and God and Jesus are worshipped with joy, and happiness. In this, a vast void has been filled. I have never heard of the "Peniel", and, frankly, am too old to venture out very far. I wonder, from what you say, if this group can really be called a denomination, or perhaps made up of people like myself, looking for an escape from the meddling of humans in the Gospel. I have not heard of this group in my area but, will look it up. ~H~
