Just testing this myself right now to see what you mean.

EDIT: I see what you mean. This only applies if you're using the Classic SI format option. On the new SI, the Previous/Next/Respond navigation is right justified, so adding the "edit" message to the left doesn't change positioning. I don't know how painful this will be to have the engineers change this, but I'll at least have them look into it.
