It appears to me the 90% is referred to in respect to the ....Export Market.

Samsung [SAGR.CN] and Hyundai [HYGR.CN] are key suppliers not only in that market but also in the export market and Analog has captured 90 percent of that business,' Stata said.

Tell me what you folks think about these two announcements.

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Feb. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Virata© Corporation (Nasdaq: VRTA - news), a leading semiconductor supplier for broadband communications, today announced that Orckit Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: ORCT - news) is utilizing Virata's Helium(TM) semiconductors for high-speed Internet ADSL access devices currently being deployed by major European telephone carriers. Highlighting the success of these products, a recent Dataquest study entitled 'ADSL Equipment: Europe, First Half 1999,' ranked Orckit number one in customer premise equipment (CPE) shipments with a 27 percent market share, and number two in ADSL central office (CO) equipment shipments with 26 percent market share.

``We are delighted that Orckit has selected Virata chips and software for the equipment being deployed by major telephone carriers in Europe,' said Duncan Greatwood, Virata's VP of Marketing. ``Based on the Dataquest report, Orckit clearly has a strong position in Europe and we look forward to helping them expand this position as well as grow market share in other regions of the world.'

Orckit's ADSL CPE systems support a variety of functions, fulfilling the requirements of today's broadband access market. The units support ADSL over both POTS and ISDN. Orckit's CPE also supports packet mode and cell mode transmission over DSL. Furthermore, ADSL CPE systems by Orckit enable the provision of bridging and routing capabilities to the customer interface.

``Virata's Helium chip has been instrumental in the development of our successful ADSL Internet access devices,' said Amit Kazzaz, vice president of marketing, Orckit. ``As DSL continues to ramp aggressively in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, North America and Asia, we expect these products to continue being successful.'
Aware?s Perspective on ADI and Virata?s Announcement to Develop Reference Design Solutions

01/18/00

Analog Devices and Virata Corporation announced the joint development of a reference design kit for the deployment of ADSL customer premises equipment devices on January 18, 2000.

The solution will consist of ADI's AD20msp930 ADSL chipset, and Virata's Helium. communications processor and networking software. ADI's chipset, which is based on Aware's technology, provides the physical layer functionality required to implement ADSL. Virata's chip and software provide higher layer communications functionality such as, an ATM engine, IP processing, Ethernet and USB interfaces, bridging, routing, and tunneling. These are complimentary technologies that are required to manufacture ADSL modems.

The combination of solutions from both companies leverages the strengths that each has to offer. We believe that this announcement is beneficial to Aware, because it should help ADI sell more ADSL chipsets, and that should generate more royalty revenue for Aware.
