Another story which was convincing to me in buying GSTRF. A friend in eastern Montana went out to check the cattle on her 4 wheeler (many still use horses). She overturned it breaking some ribs and puncturing one lung. Cellular coverage on her ranch is spotty at best. Her husband was in town for the afternoon and discovered her missing about dark. She had begun trying to walk her way out, but had a long way to go yet when they found her and put her in intensive care. Just about freezing (in fact that had a lot to do with the accident) she was very lucky. I don't know how many sections her ranch is, but people are out in this country every day and often in the worst of conditions to save their cattle from storms. In this country if you are a resident and come upon a house where the owner is absent, you are welcome to go in, fix a meal, take a nap or whatever. And there are still lots of people out on the ranch like this. In the spring individuals will go out and live with the livestock (during calving).

Furthermore, many of the biggest ranches maintain expensive communications systems of their own so that the boss can keep track to the hands at various ranches he owns. Each has its own house and ranch buildings which have gradually been assimilated into larger ranches and hired hands (cowboys) are given $1000 a month, a house and all the meat they can eat.

I think there are lots of GSTRF potential users in Eastern Montana and Wyoming.
