I would say this is a momentum thread. FA and TA together determine whether that means ST, IT or LT for any given stock.

Jan,

I agree and disagree.....some of the stocks I buy I consider long term holds, and other stocks I buy are short term position trades. HOWEVER...I've learned to never buy a company that I haven't researched, and feel comfortable holding. There are some stocks I can hold with a "paper loss", and I feel so comfortable with the management and long term outlook for the company that it doesn't bother me. I'm not as interested in the short term swings in certain stocks...I'm more concerned about the potential of an individual company, and what that company offers that will make it successful in the future!

>this is such a short-term momentum trading thread; and why do we pretend otherwise?<

This may be how you view some of the people who post on this board, but others might think that there are some of us who only buy companies that they feel have tremendous potential growth and a unique product/service to offer in their area.
