You've heard all the hype from the Intel camp, but tomorrow you can hear what AMD has to say exclusively on ZDNet UK News

It's not often Jerry Sanders speaks to the press. When he does, he's usually rushed off by a swarm of PR bodies before he has a chance to say something controversial.

However, ZDNet's editor, Richard Barry, had the opportunity to sit down with Sanders at a luncheon in Hannover on Monday to discuss AMD's processor roadmap, the mighty Intel and what challenges lie ahead in its attempt to crack the corporate arena in the battle for the server/workstation market.

In a frank Eye2Eye interview, Sanders responds to comments made by Michael Dell to Barry last month about compatibility. He also sets out the company's long-term goals and explains why Itanium, Intel's long awaited 64-bit architecture, has presented AMD with a golden opportunity.

Sony's PlayStation2 also gets a mention, as does that X-Box from Microsoft.

A clear picture of the dirty tricks of the industry are also laid out, offering a unique insight behind the scenes of what Sanders and his team are up against in fighting the "800lb gorilla".

What do you think? Tell the Mailroom and read what others have to say.

Re: "AMD should have code named it Phoenix instead."

Comment: Nice! Very appropriate...As in Phoenix from the ashes! Hope AMD's marketing department is reading your post!

EPI RE...<<<<< RE: <New article on Tom's web site:>

Epi, I read the article and I am LOL. But it seems like Tom got way too pissed at Intel for their small booth and crummy sandwiches. Lighten up Tom, its only a meal. Haven't seen whinee Paulee much lately; must be upset at Intel because Intel demoed Willy and Paul knows the PEEWEE could have won the cebit award considering how Anand's had PEEWEE winning in 8 out of 13 benchmarks.
