CMGI, as we all know, was one of the top five performers of the 90's along with Godzilla AOL.

However, I'm not sure I would lump it in with ICGE and SFE which are B2B specific at this point. Congrats to you SFE holders on your upcoming 3 for 1.

I saw an interview with the CEO of Commerce One after the market closed and he hinted that i2 and others may not have been left entirely out of the auto matrix. It's just that third parties were not part of the announcement and the details have to be worked out. Regardless, i2 has rebounded a little bit after last weeks 'action'. Not to mention it is sitting around $326 (pre-split price) at the moment.

Well, I think we put those in as well as XLA and VERT and start from there as the Market would consider these all to be incubators to a certain degree, and then we'll move forward from there.

Here's the portfolio:

My only concern here is that I cannot seem to get quotes for Softbank to register in the portfolio....any thoughts?

Cha2, since the migration has screwed up all of my portfolios, I'm going to start the DITR Index (now called the "Shiney Pebbles Portfolio") from scratch. I will use opening prices from 3/1/00 just as I did for the "Incubators Portfolio".

Here she goes:

Wind River Unveils Unified Product and Business Strategy Following Merger with Integrated Systems, Inc.

Lays Out Vision for Billions of Connected, Smart Devices

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 29, 2000--Wind River Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:WIND - news), a leading provider of software and services for smart devices in the Internet age, today announced its product and business strategy following the finalization of its merger with Integrated Systems, Inc. (ISI). Wind River's product line will converge to a single development and operating system platform; will include development tools for non-Wind River operating systems; and will support both the GNU and Diab compilers. To facilitate this work and provide targeted solutions for a number of vertical markets, the company has organized into five business units: Wind River Platforms, Wind River Services, Wind River Networks, Wind River Consumer and Wind River Transportation/Defense/Industrial (TDI). A teleconference and webcast to expand upon this new strategy will occur at 2:30 CST. The phone numbers for the teleconference are (U.S.) 888/593-6346 and (outside the U.S.) 706/634-2244. The URL for the webcast is videonewswire.com.

``Every day, more and more products are leveraging the power of the Internet, moving us towards a world of billions of connected, smart devices,' commented Jerry Fiddler, chairman and co-founder of Wind River. ``The companies serving the diverse markets using embedded technology have a real opportunity to impact this world.'

Product Roadmap Strategy

Wind River has determined that the best way to serve its customers is to converge to a single platform for its operating system and integrated development environment. This convergence will be accomplished over the next 12 - 24 months. During that time, users of both VxWorks© and pSOS(TM) operating systems will receive additional releases.

``Since Wind River and ISI received government approval to complete the merger, we have spent many hours working together on our strategy and product roadmap. In that time period we concluded that the best way to help improve our customers' time-to-market and address the increasingly complex nature of embedded systems was to bring the product lines together and leverage the best of both companies' technologies,' commented Tom St. Dennis, president and CEO of Wind River. ``We road-tested this strategy with a number of customers and partners and received enthusiastic feedback from both.'

An equally significant strategic decision is to offer Wind River's tools for use with non-Wind River operating systems. This policy was executed effectively at ISI's Diab / SDS and enabled customers using multiple operating systems to standardize on a single tools environment. Wind River will also continue to support both the GNU and Diab compilers.

``It is not unusual to find large companies using multiple commercial operating systems as well as in-house proprietary systems,' said Curt Schacker, vice president of corporate marketing for Wind River. ``By offering the Wind River tools independent of the operating system, these customers can more easily share code and engineering resources across multiple projects within their organizations.'

Organizational Structure

The new Wind River leverages the combined capabilities of both organizations -- 1600 worldwide employees, approximately $310 million in annual revenue, 500+ embedded development engineers, 550+ sales and field engineering personnel and more than $50 million in research and development in 1999. The organization is comprised of five business units focused on building the platform for connected, smart devices. Wind River Platforms will build the core real time operating system (RTOS) and integrated development environment (IDE), and Wind River Services -- including the Doctor Design Group -- will be available to provide custom solutions for digital consumer and network infrastructure equipment. The other three business units will provide targeted solutions for vertical markets.

Details -- Platform Product Roadmap

The Platforms business unit will introduce a new release of both the VxWorks and pSOS real time operating systems. Wind River will also support both the Tornado(TM) and the pRISM(TM) integrated development environments with a new release of each product. Following those releases, Wind River will introduce a single RTOS / IDE platform with advanced features.

The next version of the Tornado development environment and VxWorks RTOS, code-named project ``Cirrus,' will be available by Q3 2000 and will form the foundation of Wind River's operating system and IDE platform. It will support all leading host systems, including Linux. Cirrus will also include protection domain technology for memory protection and application isolation as well as features for high availability. The next generation of the pRISM IDE and pSOS RTOS will be code named project ``Stratus' and will be available by Q3 2000. Stratus will feature runtime enhancements including memory protection and compatibility with the latest Diab / SDS releases.

Following Stratus and Cirrus, Wind River will converge to a single RTOS and IDE that combines the best of both operating systems, called ``Cumulus'. It will be available in 2001 and will include all the features of Cirrus as well as advanced high availability, enhanced connectivity for distributed computing, increased Java programmability, and enhanced features from the SNIFF+ development tool. In addition, Cumulus will include support for the pSOS API and other characteristics unique to the pSOS operating system.

To help customers move smoothly to the new, single platform, Wind River has created a migration team to provide technical assistance.
