TMBS /MSFT is in the software investing mode -- wouldn't this be a dream come true if MSFT took a equity stake in TMBS -- immediate $40 a share News This is my ultimate dream scenario for TMBS -- (sure a long shot) but not immpossible??? See Microsoft's product manager comments (***)below -- TIMBERLINE SOFTWARE CORPORATION PUBLISHES FIRST BIZTALK COMPATIBLE ESTIMATING SCHEMAS BEAVERTON, Oregon, September 9, 1999 ? Today Timberline Software Corporation (NASDAQ:TMBS) published the first Microsoft BizTalk compatible schemas for construction estimating. The availability of these schemas will aid in e-commerce development efforts to allow construction companies to pass cost estimate information freely via the World Wide Web ? within their own organization and with outside project collaborators like suppliers, subcontractors, owners and other members of the building team. Schemas Open the Door for Information Sharing The two schemas released, one for a standard cost estimate document and the other outlining the transfer of design and cost information throughout a project's life cycle, fully adopt the Extensible Markup Language (XML) schemas and industry standards as outlined by the BizTalk Framework. It is Timberline's intention to continue to incorporate the BizTalk Framework guidelines in all ongoing product plans. "We see adopting the BizTalk Framework as a key component in giving Timberline clients the freedom to communicate with online trading partners and integrate their systems and processes however they see fit," says Curtis Peltz, Timberline president and chief executive officer. Timberline also sees the BizTalk Framework as a means to further build the collaborative relationships and product integration it shares with other leading construction industry solution providers in order to bring new technology to the market faster. According to Marcus Schmidt, *********Microsoft industry manager for e-commerce, "With the submittal of its schemas, Timberline is proving to be an active participant in the collaboration of BizTalk and a company committed to bringing the benefits of Web-based e-commerce to the construction industry."************ Introduced by Microsoft in March, the BizTalk Framework makes it easy for businesses to exchange information between software applications and conduct business over the Internet with trading partners and customers. The BizTalk Framework includes a design framework for implementing an XML schema and a set of XML tags used in messages sent between applications. Microsoft, other software companies and industry-standard bodies will use the BizTalk Framework to produce XML schemas in a consistent manner to enable integration across industries and between business systems, regardless of platform, operating system or underlying technology. More information about the BizTalk Framework, is available at www.biztalk.org on the World Wide Web.
