Earlie,

There are a lot of assumptions in your post. I think you have been very negative and have a vivid imagination, but I will attempt to pick out the bits I have a problem with.

In 1999, slightly over 100.0 million PCs were sold world- wide. This year, the cheerleaders expect the total to rise to 123.5 million units, but already, sales results indicate that this is just not likely (particularly with corporate sales virtually non-existent), so let's use 110.0 million units.

Sales results from Intel indicate that for the first time in over 15 years, the first quarter is going to be better than the 4th quarter. Demand for Intel processors is exceptionally strong. Coppermines production is in full swing and still they are not satisfying demand. Production is up to 1 million coppermines per fab per week (depending on which fab).

bottom end, where Intel has already stated that RMBS won't cut the mustard

Just not true. Intel never said that. Tell me who said it, when and where.

AMD's sales of micros moved steadily higher. In the last quarter, they shipped 6.0 million micros. This quarter, the company expects sales to be "flat to slightly higher",

No - it is Dan Niles who said flat to slightly higher - for Intel. AMD guidance is flat to slightly lower. However since then with the Intel coppermine ramp and price cuts, AMD have been forced to slash prices and there is a glut of Athlons on the market.

RMBS might have a shot at sales into high end PC boxes

Give me a break! Of the world's 7 major DRAM producers, 5 are in full production, Micron will be within a few weeks and Hitachi are in a legal dispute with Rambus. With all that production, you still have to pay a fortune to get your hands on the stuff because demand is so high. I wouldn't pay the extra for it but then I wouldn't pay the extra for a top line processor either - but plenty of people do. "might have a shot at sales" ha ha ha.

Dare we even bring up the dreaded word "profits"?

Not sure what you mean here. RMBS has recorded plenty of profits already. Read the financials. This is no amazon.com.

Day 18 of the "short squeeze" today. Anyone care to tell me I don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to short squeezes? RMBS hit another all time intraday high and another all time closing high today. Look at the chart - a nice steady progression at a more or less uniform rate. This is INSTITUTIONAL ACCUMULATION. I keep mentioning that $500 figure <VBG>.
