Actually, I wasn't thinking in terms of a stalker but rather another witness that has yet to be interviewed by police.

Yes, or course. I don't know why that never crossed my mind. There was obviously someone walking behind Suzanne. Do you think this person is too scared to come forward? Could it possibly be he hasn't heard of the crime? Doesn't think he can offer anything of value?

Last week I read in the Yale Daily News that WYBC, the Yale radio station, was #1 in all of New Haven owing to their new urban contemporary format. I got a favorable response from the General Manager when I suggested they run PSAs (public service announcements) for the hotline and $50,000 reward. However, despite two e-mails and two calls I've yet to get confirmation the idea has been approved. If "we want to put this behind us" Yale nixes the idea, I'll buy advertising space to get them run.

Here's my proposed text:

"Over a year ago, Yale senior Suzanne Jovin was stabbed to death in New Haven. Her murder has never been solved. A $50,000 reward is offered by the State for information leading to the arrest and conviction of her murderer. The community needs your help. We must bring peace to the Yale and New Haven communities regarding the one unsolved New Haven murder in 1998. Anyone with any information regarding this case is asked to contact the New Haven Police Department's Special Investigative Services Unit at 946-6296. All information will be held in the strictest confidence. That number again is 946-6296. Or call us here at WYBC for more information at 432-4118."

Would you believe that the reward posters were only put up around campus and in the neighborhood in which Suzanne was found? And the police wonder why they have no good leads?

According to 20/20, this man was only 10 feet or so behind Suzanne. Most people, especially at night, would be aware of someone following so close...

I doubt it. It was Friday night, a Big Game night. There must have been hundreds of people on the streets.
